Using Many Voices With an UMMA iPad

  1. Find QR codes QR codes are located on certain labels throughout the galleries. When you see a QR code next to an object, this means that there is extra digital media available about that piece.
  2. Tap the “Scan a QR code” Button This button is located at the top right corner of your screen, and will automatically open up a QR scanner.
  3. Direct the iPad Camera Lens at the QR code This QR scanner uses the iPad camera lens to scan for QR codes. Keep the screen directed towards you and use the viewfinder to locate the QR code on your screen. When the Scanner has scanned the QR code, it will automatically re-direct you to a new screen.
  4. View Digital Media Scanning the QR code will link you directly to a wealth of additional contextual information about specific pieces throughout the museum.

Finding Information About an Object Without a QR Code

  1. View Original UMMA-Produced Movies Click here to see a listing of all UMMA-produced media on the Many Voices site.
  2. Explore the Digital Galleries Tap on the menu icon at the top left corner of your screen and select Galleries. Tap on specific galleries on our interactive map to see a listing of all the objects in that gallery.
  3. Learn more about specific objects When you tap on an object, you can find more information about a piece or view extra content curated from the open web by UMMA Docents and Staff to enhance your experience with the objects you see at the museum. Each object page contains information on the artwork. Objects highlighted in red contain even more resources related to the objects for you to explore.
  4. View Digital Content Entering the code will link you directly to a wealth of additional contextual information about specific pieces throughout the museum.
